So when we thought of summer, people would always be delighted to look forward for getaways, escapade, fun. Whilst just don’t forget to prepare your sun screen protection for the heat of the sun.
Anyhow, are you looking for a nice place where to getaway in Cebu? The fact there’s many to mention however if you find it more convenient at the Northern part of Cebu, why not go to Medellin? Accommodation and beach resorts you would discover it there.

Both shares about my experiences in the wonders of Cebu’s Eco-Tourism Capital, Medellin. One (1) article is not enough of describing the wondrous town — for the reason it’s the fun and excitement in every traveler that shouldn’t be missed.
Important Facts
Did you know that Medellin is known as the sugar bowl of Cebu? BoMedCo Sugar Mill (Bogo Medellin Milling Company) a publicly-listed company operating under the food, beverage and tobacco sector has been in the business for long period of time. It is located in Barangay Luy-a, Medellin, Cebu.
It was incorporated to manufacture centrifugal raw sugar with molasses as its by-product. It has one wholly-owned subsidiary, BOMEDCO Agricultural Corporation was established to develop and cultivate private agricultural lands, to harvest, preserve, pack and sell the products of said lands.

1. SEAHORSE TOURIST INN OF MEDELLIN

2. PALMS SEASIDE INN AND RESORT
A serene and private beach resort which is located at Nipa beach, Mahawak, Medellin, Cebu. It has one swimming pool, spacious rooms with executive air-conditioned rooms and 10 deluxe rooms.
Room rates ranges from Php 1,000 – Php 2,500.00. It has front and back balcony but varies its view. 3. LEA’S SUNSET VIEW BEACH RESORT

4. KAWIT SHORELINE
The beach shoreline is free for everyone. If you’re on a tight budget, renting a room can be a burden and or thinking of ways for a unique accommodation right at the shore, why not lay your tent(s) and stay outdoor. You can get along with the friendly Kawit locals there.
5. MAHAWAK SHORELINE
Just like in the neighboring barangay of Kawit, this shore is also appeared in white sand powdery beach. If you’re on a tight budget, worry less because Mahawak shoreline is free. And, definitely the locals are very friendly and getting around in the shoreline will be just fine. 🙂
6. MERCEDES VILLAGE AND COUNTRY CLUB
Get to enjoy and relax at the older Mercedes Plantation Golf Course and Country Club an International standards which attracts tourists, especially Koreans.

7. HIDEAWAY
Another attraction for travelers to discover in the town of Medellin. This unique resort is located in a once remote and rocky beach in Brgy. Tindog. It’s a long pathway of a half-kilometer stretch of bamboo footbridge that connects the resort to a not so distant cottage. Affordable cottages available, a 500-meter bamboo walk that rests on a rock, slides, videoke, snorkeling and kayaking.

8. GIBITNGIL ISLAND
Another destination a must discover in Medellin, Cebu – the promising Island with its unique nature crafted, nice diving spots and clear water, it’s called the Funtastic Island. Nestled on top of series of rock formations just few meters from the island’s shore and is interconnected with concrete foot bridges — are the main attractions at the islet. Truly a magnificent place. There’s also ziplining – added for more adventure moments at the islet.

9. DAGUSUNGAN RIVER
Where one can engage in kayaking for a more intimate interaction with nature. You can explore its magnificent mangrove forest and get to choose two different river routes, each having a different rewarding experience.
10. DAYHAGANON CANAL
A man-made waterway built during the Spanish Period. This artificial water channel spans 1.5 kilometers to connect Medellin’s eastern seaboard to the west. The past decades saw the growth of a rich ecosystem at the waterway with mangroves filling both sides and birds nesting at the mangrove forest. The place isaccessible by bancas and kayaks, travel through Dayhagon Canal offers both tranquility and joy.
11. DISCOVERY REEF
For underwater explorers, a great adventure awaits you in this place. The great reef is a coral garden that stretches from Polambato canal to the water boundary of Daanbantayan.
12. FLOATING COTTAGE
Ideal venue exclusively dating in a diner and get together with families and friends uniquely designed and situated at the bay. If you want to relax and be away from the bustle city, why would you try to hang-out in this place?

14. ZIPAWAY
Situated on top a scenic hill offers a thrilling one way zipline ride with a taste of fresh air and pure adrenalin rush. Located in Barangay Caputatan Norte, Medellin. It is a municipal-owned eco-adventure park. Which explains why they have so affordable zipline and Tarzan jump rates. Zipline will only cost you P50, while Tarzan jump is only P25.
15. CABLE CAR
Just a short trip but you’ll get to enjoy the heights and wonderful tapestry of wide sugarcane fields and coco trees.
16. TARZAN JUMP
However creates a different excitement. It is a swing contraption, where one is fastened to a safety harness and will be dropped from a platform and swung to the air at almost 180 degrees, depending on your own weight, since the law of physics is applied for this ride.

BAMBOO FOREST (Japan vibes in Cebu)
Introducing one of the newest attraction in Northen Cebu, Bamboo Forest which is located exactly at Brgy. Luy-a, Medellin. This forest resembles that of Kyoto Japan’s bamboo forest. Feels like you are in Japan when in Medellin, Cebu! That being said, this attraction also gives us a solid Korean drama atmosphere. Truly serving everyone a different feel.

HOW TO GET THERE IN MEDELLIN?
- Medellin is a 3-hour long ride from Mactan International Airport.
- You can opt to commute or ride a bus via Ceres bus liner and V-hire.
- Head on to the North Bus Terminal, now currently situated at SM City Cebu parking area.
- Make sure to chance a bus bound for “Kawit” because this ride will take you directly to the town of Medellin. Bus fare is P135. (Fare rate not updated)
